Montenidoli, Il Templare Bianco 2019

Husband-wife duo Elisabetta & Sergio Fagiuoli have winemaking in their blood, with Elisabetta being able to trace familial vine cultivation back to the early 1700s. Revitalising an ancient vineyard falling into disrepair, they have now been running Montenidoli together for over 60 years. Templar Bianco 2019 is named for the Templar knights who once lived at the Montenidoli estate. Like those knights did, Elisabetta & Sergio also age the Vernaccia, Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes in oak. It's a classic Tuscan white; rich, bright, and with a clean aroma of ripe pear and spice. It's generous on the palate with white berry flavours and a savoury quality playing behind a peppery-minerally finish. A great pair with truffle-based dishes.
